OpenViewThreads=1 did it for me

HCL Notes/Domino 8.5 Forum (includes Notes Traveler)

This worked for me:
Stop the Notes clien and set OpenViewThreads=1 in the NOTES.INI
Then it worked. OpenViewThread got reverted back to 0 but conversations works even after restarting the client....
